About Upstagers Academy

Upstagers has been providing a creative outlet for youngsters in Ilkley and the surrounding district for nearly thirty years. Our theatre classes are incredibly important to us, and we believe Upstagers Academy will offer more benefits and opportunities than ever before. We’ve brought a number of new, incredibly talented people on board with a wealth of experience and new ideas. We’re combining this with the young creative talent behind our recent and future Upstagers Theatre shows to bring you a tremendous team of teachers to provide fulfilling, fun, and beneficial classes to our next generation of Upstagers stars.

Our participants get the most out of their experience by building confidence and developing communication skills, whilst also having a lot of fun and meeting new friends. We are proud that a number of of Upstagers alumni have created successful careers in theatre and other forms of acting, and we look to build on this in the future.

Classes are available for six year olds up to young adults. All classes take place at 'The Barn', (Upstagers' home) opposite Ilkley railway station.

We are always happy to consider new classes, so if you have an idea or request for a new class then please feel free to contact us.

Term times

Upstagers Academy runs during local school term times, with breaks for the holidays and during certain Upstagers shows. We occasionally run special workshops during holiday periods, keep checking our web site and Facebook and Twitter feeds for details.
